China registers its first audio trademark

News bureau "Xinhua" reports that China will soon finally register their first audio trademark – a state radio station tune.

State Administration for Industry and Commerce intends to approve the application of International Chinese Radio. Since 2013, after an introduction of amendments to legislation, the agency has received about 450 applications.

For example, Nokia signature tune and the McDonald's phrase «I'm lovin 'it» are sound trademarks.
